I just stumbled upon these seriously gorgeous photos of Marion Cotillard and had to share! I am now itching to see Midnight in Paris because of its 93% rating from Rotten Tomatoes {and dang it's hard to please them!}. Have you seen it, did you enjoy it? xxoo

A Peaceful Passage

Psalm 23 "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Jon Foreman has a song {find it here} that is based on this chapter in the Bible. I wanted to pick out my favorite portion, but while reading it over and over again I realized it all gives me a sense of peace. My heart is full of God's love from this wonderful psalm, I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever! Thank you Jesus! xxoo

Nursery Prints

While browsing etsy I came across these lovely nursery prints from Just Bunch Designs . They are so adorably perfect! Yes, I added them to my favorites list, so when I announce I'm pregnant, you are MORE than welcome to send them my way ;) Go check her out! There were so many cute items! I especially love the dresses, the different colors and styles are wonderful, I might be tempted to get these regardless of the sex of my baby {i'm only kind of kidding here...}! Where would you go for your nursery prints? xxoo

Adele

Okay, I'm sure by now all of your are 'over' the Adele phenomenon, but I'm just getting started! I could listen to her 24 hours a day {well, minus the hours I spend listening to Bon Iver }. This song gets me every time, I always find myself belting out the lyrics along with her. via youtube How about you, are you over Adele or lovin' her as much as I am!? xxoo

Lemon Curd

Last week I got my monthly Rachel Ray magazine and was SO happy with how many new recipes I wanted to try. The first one that stood out was this amazing Kiwi-Lemon Cheesecake. It called for lemon curd so I ran off to the store to buy some, but it was spendy! I started looking online and decided I could do it myself. Once I got it in my head that I was going to make that dang lemon curd I started seeing it EVERYWHERE. My favorite use for it was on the blog stephmodo. Delicious looking lemon curd shots with raspberries. YUM! I had to get started on this right away! There were SO MANY lemon curd recipes online, so for my first attempt to make it I decided to go the easy route and chose the microwave version from allrecipes.com . There was a lot of squeezing, zesting and stirring happening in my kitchen that afternoon! My curd came out good, although it was a bit too lemony for me I think. I want to try a bunch of recipes until I find the one that suits me best. Wish me luck! xx

Besides husband hurting his back out of nowhere yesterday, this weekend was swell. Two whole days together with no obligations = the best! Card making Air show watching Hottie husband watching And gorgeous flowers blooming. It doesn't get much better ladies! How was your weekend? xxoo

Dinner Fail, Dessert Win!

Last nights dinner was supposed to look like this Instead it turned out like this It was a serious fail. The flavor was good, but it looked terrible and took more than twice as long to make as we thought it would. Oh and, it was a bit too crispy. BUT Dessert redeemed me, it was Kiwi Lemon Cheesecake - Yum! The recipe called for lemon curd, and when I saw how expensive it was at the store, I decided to try and make my own! It turned out great, and this was the end result It was not quite as solid as it should have been, but delicious non-the-less! Both of these recipes were from Rachel Ray's Everyday magazine. It was exciting making new things, hopefully next time they turn out a bit better :) xxoo

Graduation

Last weekend my itty bitty baby sister graduated high school! I can't believe it! She is headed to University of Oregon and will be performing on their dance team. Mark and I happily drove 6 hours to be with the family {along with the other 4 sisters, 2 nephews, sisters husband, other sisters boyfriend and of course mom and dad}. This photo is from 1999, when the oldest Boatright graduated. We recreated the photo :) Pretty close, except Shanni's scrawny legs are no longer scrawny and they are hiding under her gown! She is too gorgeous! And too grown up! Proud parents. Me and the graduate. Naomi {oldest} and I. Crocker's and Shan! Seriously. She's so stinking cute. We got to spend a little bit of time with Mark's family while we were in town too {convenient, no?}. Mark's mom made us a wonderful scrapbook of our wedding {that I'll show off soon}, thanks again Becky! They also let us stay overnight in their trailer, with a cute little welcome basket insi

Bon Iver, Bon Iver

I am in love with Bon Iver's album Bon Iver . This is one of my favorite songs off the album, Holocene, but in reality I love them all. I highly suggest you beeline to YouTube and search for all the songs and then promptly visit iTunes and purchase it! Enjoy the video, it's memorizing! 8 things

Black*Eiffel did this a while back, but it looked fun and I thought why not! Here are 8 facts about me, tell me 8 things about you and leave a comment letting me know if you did it! Have fun! 1: I have four sisters, I am number 4 out of the five girls and I get along marvelously with each of them. 2: I seriously cannot wait to have a baby. If I get pregnant within the next 4 months, I will be the same age my mother was when she gave birth to me. It seems momentous, or something. 3: I LOVE to read. Book recommendations anyone? 4: We recently moved into a house with an awesome kitchen. I've discovered I really really like to cook, and also that cooking means more dishes :/. 5: I adore the Backstreet Boys. Yes, I still listen to them. 6: I absolutely CANNOT be in a pitch black room, unless it's time to sleep. If the light goes out, I stand there not moving and yell at whoever turned off the light until one pops back on again. 7: Today is my 15 month anniversary. Love you

Life Lately

All of us sisters were in town for the baby sis, she graduated high school! She is 7 and a half years younger than me, and 13 years younger than the oldest {Naomi}, so it was all kind of crazy! Picture order; Catie, me, mom, Naomi, Shannon {the graduate} and Joellen. We had such a great weekend! Yummy frozen yogurt with mochi! Have you had mochi? Do you love it? I couldn't get enough! Naomi, mom and I always have to squeeze in a game of scrabble! Mom won {of course}. I made Shannon's card, it turned out so well! Goodbye Coos Bay!! I'll post some photos of graduation sometime this week :) xxoo

Rolling bridge

Check out this awesome rolling bridge! I found it over at Rachel's blog Black*Eiffel . I love how different each bridge can be, it made me miss the ones I used to see {and drive over} daily, so I had to dig up a few cool photos of them as well. You can watch it curl up here. This one is the Hawthorne Bridge, found here. This one is the Interstate Bridge, taken by the same photographer and can be found here. Mostly I don't miss Portland, I love living in Olympia. But these beautiful photos of bridges and blue skies make me miss it a little bit more. xxoo

The New Fill in the Blank Friday.

The other day my husband asked when I was doing Fill in the Blank Friday. ha. Love that man. So the new Fill in the Blank is a bit harder than the usual. I have to write about me, my feelings, my thoughts. So this week Lauren has asked us to finish the sentence? Paragraph? Here it is. I blog because.. I want to. I first started a blog to share my life journey with whoever. I obviously don't blog because I'm a great writer or a talented cook, or because I want people to look at my life and think I'm great. I just blog so that family and friends can keep up with the happenings of my Newlywed Life. Of course I wish that I was a great writer, a talented cook and that I had great things to blog about, but I am incredibly happy with just posting what I see, what we do and what I like to look at. I am so inspired by other blogs I read and have even recently started trying out more things that people post about. The internet is such a wonderful resource for a new wife! Ide

Idina Menzel

Have you ever been to The Paramount theater in Seattle? Boy is it beautiful! Husband and I were blessed by a few friends with last minute tickets to see Idina Menzel at the beginning of her tour in Seattle! We had so much fun! She was pretty funny, did you know she is married to Taye Diggs? They have a beautiful baby boy together. Hopefully I will get to watch her preform in Wicked this fall {and I still need to watch Rent !} Btw, this crosses off another item from my 26 by 26 list! xxoo
