something I've been pondering...

Last night I had quite the discussion with my bosses..it was very upsetting actually (for me anyway..).  I'm such a sensitive person that when something hard is brought up, I almost always end up in tears.  So the part I've been pondering is this, when is enough enough at the workplace?  The thing I can't get out of my head is the few verses in the book of Colossians that says,
'Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.'
So even though I am ridiculed by a co-worker again and again, for nothing...should I stay there? I feel completely torn between sticking it out and just showing the co-worker Christ's love, and quitting so that I don't have to deal with her anymore.

Any advice?

  1. Well, personally...I'd quit. I'm the type of person that takes my work home with me emotionally. There are people out there that can handle tough situations at work and then go home and have it be no big deal, but not me.

If staying there is something you've been praying about, yet continually still feel uncomfortable with, it's probably time to start looking elsewhere. If you don't feel comfortable quitting just yet, you might start looking for another job. That way if you feel the Lord is telling you to stay there, you can. But if you find something better, then great!

And to be honest, being stressed at your job while you're engaged doesn't help at all. I totally understand!

  2. I too think that this is something you need to pray on. And I agree with Katie. It never hurts to look for other options. You never know what's in store for you until you take a moment to look at the options.

    Good Luck!

  3. Just curious if you've confronted your co-worker about how their behavior is affecting?

We all have the right to feel safe and respected in our workplace, so it's definitely not something to tolerate. If you wouldn't want to leave your job otherwise, it's worth putting in the time to get at the root of this person's inappropriate treatment of you. If all else fails, you've done what you could, and move on to a place where you are treated fairly - you deserve to be happy in your job!

Hope you keep us updated :)

  4. Thanks guys! I'll most likely be looking for a new job, and trying to just hang in there until I find one. I've been praying about this a ton, but you know, God doesn't always just tell us what to do...He gave us the ability to make choices for a reason. Thanks for all the support!

to live is Christ, to die is gain.

The apostle Paul wrote those words in Philippians 1:21...God did some miraculous work thru Paul didn't he!? After Paul saw the light (literally) he traveled to Judea, Syria, Cilicia, Galatia, Pamphylia, Asia, Macedonia, Achaia and Italy. WOW. I've shared God's word....via skype to my bestie Nicole and...uhhh..shoot. What am I doing?! Yikes, I'm so ready to go, to tell of God's glory, to "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and teaching." (2 Tim. 4:2) Its convicting to know that I really haven't done as much as I could be doing, if I died, I have no doubt I would meet Jesus, my Lord and Savior would know my heart and how much I love Him and my willingness and readiness to share Him with the world..but I also know He will stand before me and say, Look at what you could have had, if only you had come to me sooner, done My work rather than yours. What I've been HALFway reading.

Guys. I've started around 512 books over the last few months. I haven't finished any. GAH. Here's just a few - Divergent by Veronica Roth. I'm so excited to actually keep reading this. I loved the movies but feel like the books are ALWAYS better. I haven't read much of this one yet because I feel guilty every time I pick it up. I always feel like I should be reading something that will improve me. I'll finish it some day. Simple Steps to Foot pain Relief by Katy Bowman, MS. I started reading this one for clients who have foot / knee / hip / back / shoulder pain. Basically any pain. I love trying to help my clients more than what they expect, so bits of information I can soak in and pass on are great! Katy Bowman does a great job breaking down the foot and then gives some awesome techniques on things you can do to help your feet. I'm close to done with this one actually, and thats good because it's due back at the library in a few days. Goo

Weekend

This weekend M and I got to go to Portland and spend some time with my sister and her family. She has two little boys and one on the way, so every second has noise/crying/laughter. Joellen and I got to spend some time away (went to the mall) which was a perfect break from chaos. I did get quite a bit of knitting done and was able to post some new stuff up on my Etsy shop ! I also got three custom orders (yay!!). If you see anything on my site you like but are interested in a different size, color or color combos just let me know! Here is a peek of my new product!
